No More Waiting

A new client approached me the other day about a new home build project that they were embarking on. They were starting completely from scratch and were looking for some professional advice about various aspects of the project. One of the things they were wondering was what kind of heating system to have installed. Apparently, their old property had a traditional heating system with a tank, however, they were wondering whether this was the right approach to take for their new build or whether they should upgrade to something new and more innovative.

When a client asks me for my advice, I feel that it’s my duty to present them with what I consider to be the best option for the situation, and whether or not they take that advice is up to them. After all, it is their project!

Having been asked about which type of heating system to choose, I felt that I should tell the client all about tankless water heaters and why I think they should choose one. I feel pretty strongly about them, I have to say, which may sound strange, however, you can’t really appreciate how amazing they are unless you’ve tried one.

Learn about the best tankless water heater reviews and find out what water heater that’s best for you.

Convenient and On Demand

Rather than the old school tank system where you had to wait for your water to heat up before you could take a bath, have a shower or wash the dishes, a tankless system eliminates the need to wait around. That means that you can just turn on the faucet and hot water will come out as and when you need it. If you’ve been used to having to switch the system on half an hour before you needed it, that’s a revolutionary concept!

Extra Space in the Home

There is nothing more convenient than a tankless system, and even better, there’s no need for a tank to be stored somewhere in the home. That means that you don’t have to plan in a special cupboard and since the units themselves are much more compact than the old style heating unit they fit easily into any chosen space, whether that be a kitchen, a utility room, or even inside a downstairs cupboard.

Energy Saving

There is another benefit which is even better than the convenience of hot water on demand and more space in the home, and that is the energy saving aspect. Tankless water heating systems have been proven to save up to 50% of the energy that a tank style system would use, helping to save the environment and precious resources and also helping to cut the cost of the homeowner’s energy bills. What’s not to like?

I presented the client with a couple of different popular tankless water heater options so that they could see for themselves how good these systems could be.

There are two versions of this tankless water heater – a propane and a natural gas variant for added convenience. With a stylish appearance, this is one system that you won’t mind having in the home and it’s easy to use dial controls can regulate the water and gas pressure to suit the homeowner’s needs. Using hydropower ignition rather than electricity, this means that the unit will continue to function even in the event of a power outage, and this also helps to save on electricity costs as well as reducing the costs of running the heater. With a 0.8 energy factor, an 80% thermal efficiency and a top flow rate of 5.2 gpm, this is a great value unit.

On the downside, it can only supply hot water to two bathrooms in the home and it may freeze up during very cold weather due to the plastic water valve housing.

Powered by natural gas, this tankless water heater is ideal for smaller properties which want to save on resources and bills. Operating at a temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit at a flow of 2.3 GPM, this system is easy to install and only requires 10 watts when operated to save energy. Its modern design features a digital display and it is power ventilated for efficiency and safety. The electronic ignition system is very safe and the controls allow for precise adjustment of water flow and temperature to suit the homeowner’s needs. It is also protected by a manufacturer’s warranty. On the downside, this unit is only really suited to homes with a single bathroom as it does not have the capacity to handle a lot of simultaneous usage.
